The control signal is gene rated by a controller \;designed as the interpolation between one cont roller designed for \;sliding\, and  \;one designed for pre-slidin g\, resulting in a smooth \;movement\, implying possibly reduced conve rgence time. The ALPEO friction \;model that includes pre-sliding\, tu ned by measurements\, was used for the \;construction of the pre-slidi ng controller\, but any other model from the \;literature could be att empted. Simulations were done on a generic \;two-mass system\, and lab oratory experiments are planned.
