Covid-19 teaching policy at Automatic Control, fall 2020

Details about the exact implementation of the policy will be given in each course.

  • If you feel unwell with cold symptoms, cough or fever, you must stay at home. This applies even if you only feel slightly unwell. Do not return to the university for at least two days after you have recovered. Read more about the general recommendations from FHM. Retake labs will be offered (see below) and all course material will be available in digital form.
  • There will be no office hours or spontaneous drop ins at the department, but a digital alternative will be offered in each course.
  • All lectures, except those for the new master's programme in Machine Learning, Systems and Control, will be given as video lectures only. The videos will be available on the course page in Canvas no later than the day indicated in the LTH schedule.
  • Physical exercise sessions may be given, though it is recommended to offer at least one digital alternative. In the case of physical sessions, limited seating (as indicated in each room) and physical distancing between the students and between the students and the TAs will be enforced. It is very important that you stay at home if you have the slightest cold or flu symptoms, and the TAs have the right to reject anyone who appears ill.
  • Physical lab sessions will be held, but again with limited seating and physical distancing between the students and between the students and the TAs. All students must work alone, and the lab time is limited to two hours. During the lab, supervision will mainly be performed at a distance. Hand sanitiser and face masks are provided and must be used, and the instructions for cleaning the equipment must be followed. It is very important that you stay at home if you have the slightest cold or flu symptoms, and the TAs have the right to reject anyone who appears ill. Retake labs will be offered to anyone who cannot participate due to illness, but you must inform the lab responsible about your absence before the lab.
  • Project groups should be kept separated from each other, and supervision will as far as possible be done using digital tools. For any practical work done at the department, hand sanitiser and face masks are provided and must be used, and the instructions for cleaning the equipment must be followed.
  • Supervision of bachelor and master's theses will as far as possible be done using digital tools, but final seminars can be done on campus. For any practical work done at the department, hand sanitiser and face masks are provided and must be used, and the instructions for cleaning the equipment must be followed.
