The course Market-driven Systems will present the role and value of control in modern production companies. Modern production companies interact with the market in many ways, some examples are international standards, industrial trends, fluctuations in demands, and variations in raw-material prices.
NEWS: The project reports should be handed in (via email) by May 20, 2013.
NEWS: The project presentations will take place in the lecture-sessions on Tuesday May 21 (at 8-10, M:D) and Thursday May 23 (at 10-12, M:D).

Course material
The course material consists of reading material for each lecture, exercises and solutions, laboratory manuals and project information. The reading material is a set of articles and chapters from various books. The course material is collected in a binder which can be bought at the Department. The binder will also be sold at the lectures and exercise sessions during the first week of the course. The price of the binder is 100 SEK.
Laboratory sessions
The two laboratory sessions are mandatory. Booking lists are posted on this webpage approximately 10 days prior to the start of the laboratory session. The laboratory manuals contain home assignments that should be completed before the start of the laboratory session.

Projects
As part of the course, the students should perform a project. The project will be done in groups of 4-6 students. Each group will work on a different project, each one having an industrial relevance. The project task is formulated together with industries in the region. At the end of the course the groups will present their work for each other.

An introduction to the projects will be given Friday 12/4 at 12:00-12:30 (tentative date and time).
Examination
The exam is given Friday 2013-05-31 at 08:00-13:00 in Sparta:A. A second occation is given on XX 2013-08-xx at xx-xx. No course material is allowed during the examination.
